Join us as talented plein air artists from all over the country converge on our historic Adirondack community August 15 - 18, 2013. There will be 3 days of painting followed by a Show & Sale in the Harrietstown Town Hall on Main Street, Saranac Lake.
Come watch artists as they interpret the unique "cure cottages" and Adirondack rustic architecture of Saranac Lake during the Thursday August 15 "Paint the Town" event. Spectators are more than welcome as artists will spread out throughout the village to create their paintings. Each artist donates a 5x7 to a silent auction. Aug 15 is also a "3rd Thursday ArtWalk" night.
On Friday Aug 16 the artists will be out on the trails of the Paul Smith's College VIC. Just 12 miles from Saranac Lake, the woodland, marshes, brooks and mountain views will inspire many great paintings. Spectators welcome and there is an exhibit reception from 5 - 7 pm.
Saturday Aug 17 the artists are free to choose any location to paint. Booklets with maps and directions will be available from event head-quarters, the Adirondack Artists' Guild, 52 Main Street, Saranac Lake.
On Sunday Aug 18, the Show & Sale of works produced at this event will open in the Harrietstown Town Hall on Main St., from 12 - 4 pm. This is a wonderful opportunity to not only take home a "piece" of the Adirondacks, but it could be one you witnessed being created!
