CHECK IN - Artists may check in at the Adirondack Artists Guild, 52 Main St., from noon to 7pm and get canvases/papers stamped.

Nocturne Contest!
NorthWind Fine Arts Gallery, 11 Woodruff St, is going to sponsor a Nocturne Contest. 11x14 or smaller. Info will be in registration packets. Nocturnes may begin Monday evening. DUE  BY THURSDAY, 4 PM but may be dropped off any time the gallery is open. 
TUESDAY AUG 15, 2017

"Paint the VIC
" Day. Artists  who still need to check-in, may do it at the VIC, starting at 8 am. The
Paul Smith's College VIC is site for the first day of painting. Miles of trails, scenic views of mountains, old growth forest, bogs, streams, marsh, beaver lodges, Adirondack lean-tos, etc. Indoor facilities. Many good painting spots near the parking areas and building. May also paint on the nearby college campus. Get directions to the Black Pond part of the VIC. Trail maps available. BRING LUNCH. BBQ Chicken dinner has been cancelled due to lack of participants. Painting through the evening is encouraged - artists are on their own for dinner..


WEDNESDAY AUG 16, 2017

"Paint the Adirondacks" Day. Artists are free to choose their own painting locations. There will be a prize for the best Village of Lake Placid painting, as well as some other special painting opportunities. Check materials and map in packet.

A small group of artists have been invited to paint on Eagle Island, in Upper Saranac Lake. Watch for those paintings in the Show & Sale. It is a historic property that is being renovated and restored by the Friends of Eagle Island, Inc.

THURSDAY AUG 17, 2017
 

"Paint the Town" Day. Thursday is "Paint the Town" day. Artists are asked to provide one, small (11x14 or smaller), unframed painting for a Silent Auction which will begin at 5 pm. Free 5x7 canvases will be available. Artists receive 50% of the proceeds and a donation to the Saranac Lake Central School District Art Program will be made from the remainder. PAINTINGS (UNFRAMED) DUE AT 4 PM AT THE ADIRONDACK ARTISTS GUILD GALLERY.

"Nocturne Contest".
Nighttime paintings, no larger than 11x14. PAINTINGS (FRAMED), DUE AT 4 PM AT THE NORTHWIND FINE ARTS GALLERY, 11 Woodruff St. $100 Prize Winner awarded at 6 pm. Paintings on display through Saturday at 6.


"3rd Thursday ArtWalk" - from 5 - 7:30 pm there will be artists and musicians throughout the village as part of our regular monthly ArtWalk. Stroll about, visit the various art venues, and enjoy the evening. Free live music at Berkeley Green. You do NOT have to participate in this, but if you wish to, feel free to set up and paint somewhere. It's good publicity for the Plein Air Festival. FRIDAY AUG 18, 2017
 

"Paint the Saranac River" Day. We have permission to paint at the Saranac Lake Fish & Game Club and there are additional painting locations near by. Or artists may use this time to get paintings framed.

FRAMED PAINTINGS DUE AT THE TOWN HALL AT 2 PM. ARTISTS HANG THEIR OWN WORK AT ASSIGNED WALLS. JURYING AT 4.

PREVIEW PARTY

 
A special opportunity to see the 400+ new paintings created at the event. Tickets $20/person. Beer, wine & light food provided. 6 - 9 pm in the Town Hall. Artists invited to attend, at no cost. Awards presented around 8 pm. Buy Tickets HERE in advance, or at the door. Reception generously sponsored by AdkAction.org.


SATURDAY AUG 19

Quick Draw Competition - (optional) downtown Saranac Lake & Riverside Park, 10 - noon. Paintings judged at the Town Hall at 12:15 and prize awarded. ARTISTS: register and pick up your number at the Adirondack Artists Guild between 9 - 10 am. Paint from 10 - noon. Bring easels and framed paintings to the sidewalk out in front of the Town Hall for judging at 12:15.
