Currently there are 12 galleries and 18 artists.  This is down from this time last year.  It is not too late to join.  You can join on-line through the ArtWorks’ website

Our current advertising plan/budget, which includes the brochure = $8,700
Our current income is $5,100. Therefore, we need to boost membership.

Saranac Lake Village Arts Master Plan:
Committee has met and will be looking for grant money to hire a consultant.  A Request For Proposal (RFP) is going to be developed.  Mark Kurtz is the ArtWorks representative on this committee.

How to draw people from Lake Placid?
Discussed the challenges of getting people to come to Saranac Lake for a day visit.  Ideas are welcome as to how we can make this happen.

Future planning:
Contact will be made with a consultant to help with publicity, website and potential grants.

Studio Tour:
There are 6 artists willing to help with the Studio Tour.  A request is being made to ask that they present their ideas and plans for this year’s event at the next ArtWorks/BluSeed meeting in March.  It’s never too early to start planning!

New Events for 2017:
In addition to the Juried Plein Air Festival in August, Sandy is planning an open non-juried Plein Air weekend at the VIC in September
Sandy mentioned the potential for ArtWorks/BluSeed to host a handcrafted furniture event.

Next Meeting:
Tuesday, March 14th at 5:30pm at BluSeed Studios

Respectfully submitted,
